2007年より「食」「農」を通じて、北海道の生産者に出会う数多くの機会をいただいてきました。そのなかで、オホーツク、十勝、宗谷、釧路、真狩、空知、道央圏をはじめとする各地域のおいしい農産物を知り、生産者の志や農業の魅力、そして課題も知りました。 食と農に関する企画・コンサルティング、生産者と消費者の交流促進、次世代を担う人材の育成事業が認められ、農林水産省より平成23年度の「食と地域の『絆』づくり」優良事例として表彰を受けました。そして2012年、多くのご支援とご協力をいただき、複数の企業、生産者団体と共に北海道農産物の新ブランド「SNOW JEWELS」育成プロジェクトをスタートさせました。わたしたちは、このブランド育成を通じて、流通ネットワークの拡大、商品開発支援、地域間連携強化、海外販路の強化に取り組み、北海道農作物の商品力向上、高収益化を図り、農業の産業化を目指します。

Since 2007, we’ve had countless opportunities to meet with local Hokkaido producers through food and produce. During these encounters we discovered the finest agricultural produce from every corner of island, including Okhotsk, Tokachi, Souya, Kushiro, Makkari, Sorachi, and fertile Central Hokkaido. We’ve also learned about the devotion and appeal of each producer as well as the challenges they face. Our food and produce consulting services, measures to encourage greater interaction between producer and consumer, and initiatives to develop the next generation of human resources in agriculture was recognized by Japan’s Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries in fiscal 2011 with a good practice award in “Relationship Building in Food and Local Communities”. In 2012, we launched SNOW JEWELS, a new project for developing a new Hokkaido produce brand, together with several companies and producer groups. By developing this brand, we aim to expand distribution networks, support product development initiatives, strengthen inter-community collaboration, and grow international sales channels. This will improve the competitiveness of produce made in Hokkaido and boost profitability, which in turn will make agriculture a more successful industry in Hokkaido.

わたしたちは、北海道の基幹産業である一次産業、特に農業の産業化を実現すべく日々、事業に取り組んでいます。 北海道の生産者と消費者をつなぐことで、農業できちんと利益を得られる生産者を増やしたい。また、おいしくて・安心・安全な食材を求める方々に北海道の野菜を届け、より良い生活の営みをお手伝いする存在でありたい。それがわたしたちの願いです。北海道の魅力は四季、とくに雪の季節です。魅力的な北海道農産物は、一年の半分もの間、大地を白く覆う雪から生まれます。半年間しっかり土地を休ませ養分を蓄えた土と、雪解け水をたっぷり吸うことで生み出される野菜の魅力。それを伝えていくことがわたしたちの使命です。越冬することで甘みを増すじゃがいも、にんじん嫌いの子どもでも食べられる雪下にんじん等、雪の大地が育んだおいしい野菜がたくさんあります。 生産者の思いや栄養素はもちろん、食卓でどのようにおいしく食べていただけるかまで、SNOW JEWELSはきちんと伝えていきます。

We are working day in and day out to make Hokkaido’s core primary industries, and in particular agriculture, more successful. By linking Hokkaido’s producers with consumers, we are aiming to increase the number of producers that can turn a sustainable profit. At the same time, we want to help these producers deliver Hokkaido produce to consumers seeking delicious, safe and secure products for a healthier lifestyle. This is our commitment. Hokkaido is known for its four distinct seasons, but it truly shines during its snow-filled winters. This is because Hokkaido’s amazing agricultural produce comes from fields that are covered in snow for up to half a year. These long winters help to rest and restore the land, providing highly fertile fields and ample access to snowmelt. This is the secret behind Hokkaido’s delicious vegetables. Our mission is to share these facts and vegetables with consumers. Hokkaido’s plethora of wonderful agricultural produce includes wintered potatoes with heightened sweetness and wintered carrots that are sure to please even the pickiest of eaters.The SNOW JEWELS brand will effectively communicate the devotion of each producer, nutritional information and how best to prepare Hokkaido produce for any meal.

皆様と共に私たちが目指すものは、可能性に満ちた北海道の食の未来を、 農業、流通事業によって切り開くことです。 消費者と生産者を繋ぎ、若者が挑戦できる場所を創ること、 手を携える地域の、より良い営みの実現が私どもの使命です。 北海道は四季を通じ素晴らしい自然環境があり、とりわけ雪という大きな特徴があります。半年間の雪の季節が終わり、残り半年間での収穫と大地の恵みこそが、北海道の農作物の最大の魅力です。その魅力を消費者に伝えていくこと、安心して食べてもらえるよう働きかけていくことが私たちの役割です。これからの北海道の食の未来を、皆様と共に世界へ発信していきましょう。

We have the same goal as all of you, which is to cultivate the future of high-growth potential Hokkaido foods through the agriculture and distribution businesses. Our mission is to connect producers with consumers, create new and exciting employment opportunities for young people, and make local communities better places to live. Hokkaido is blessed with an extraordinary natural environment and distinct four seasons. The region’s heavy snowfall blankets fields for up to half a year, with the remaining time devoted to growing and harvesting. This is the secret behind Hokkaido’s amazing agricultural produce. Our role is to communicate this secret and more to consumers to encourage them to choose produce that is safer and better tasting than competing products. We look forward to working closely with all of you to make the future of Hokkaido produce even brighter and more rewarding through international marketing and sales.
